This project focuses on improving the search tab of the music app 'Vibe' operated by Naver Corporation. I proposed three features that help users explore and create personalised music playlists more engaging and enjoyable.
Playful interaction activates a new explore page and features.
Feature 1 provides a 'Mood Board' that shows visual artwork and keywords describing the mood. Based on user's selections, a personalised playlist will be generated.
Feature 2 allows users to capture a view or upload an image as input. Based on the image provided, a music video that best matches the content will be recommended. Additionally, various songs related to the music video will also be displayed in a list.
Feature 3 provides a tool for customising the genre proportions in a user's playlist. The genres are displayed horizontally, prioritised based on the user's taste. By clicking on the genre cards, users can place balls in a basket, indicating the proportion of each genre they would like in their playlist.
Creating the right level of fidelity in a prototype is important when presenting an idea.
Research should focus not only on the user, but also what the company aims to convey through its service and design.
I aimed to explore different type of interactions that enhance user experience while aligning with Vibe’s identity as a personal curation music app. Even though this concept is still in the early stage of ideation, it was a great opportunity to deeply consider user experience within a smaller scope of the digital service.
